BRIAN FRIEL (Playwright). Brian Friel’s
Faith Healer was presented on Broadway in
2006. His play, The Home Place (2005),
opened at the Gate Theatre in Dublin before
transferring to the Comedy Theatre in
London. Other works include The Enemy

Brian Friel has won many awards for his
work, including a Tony Award for Dancing
at Lughnasa. Honorary member of the
Royal Society of Literature and the
American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by
the Irish Times.
