Manhattan Theatre Club’s Winter Benefit: An Intimate Night was held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the fabled Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center. Unlike any other evening in New York, MTC’s An Intimate Night is a dazzling musical event that brings you up close to Broadway’s most glittering stars for an exclusive one-night only cabaret. The festivities began at 7pm and include cocktails, dinner and a sensational lineup of cabaret performances. Hosted by James Naughton (Chicago, City of Angels), this year’s show featured performances from Broadway’s most dazzling young stars, including Alexander Gemignani (Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables), Renee Elise Goldsberry (”One Life to Live,” The Color Purple) and Leslie Kritzer (On the Town, A Catered Affair).
Funds raised from An Intimate Night provide critical resources for Manhattan Theatre Club’s Education Program, which brings theatre to over 4,000 New York City schoolchildren every year, and allows MTC to fulfill its mission as a leading non-profit theatre company producing contemporary plays on and off-Broadway. The event was co-chaired by Board Members Bethany Millard and Fiona Kirk.
